[Jace appears on the screen with a smirk on his face.]

I believe I have found the perfect place to do this.

[He turns the device around to show he's on a cliff at the beach. He shifts it to show that the beach is...really, REALLY far down there. Anyone jumping from this cliff would be insane.]

Looks like the height I want.

[Bringing the recording back to himself, he's still grinning. The device gets set down on the rocks and the viewer gets to watch as he goes to the edge. Turning his back to it, he closes his eyes, and...falls.

The recording ends there.]

[ooc: If you're at the beach, you might see Jace flip through the air to land on his feet without damage on the beach below. Otherwise, he'll answer calls he gets when he climbs back up to get his device.]

Oh yes. The clothes alone may horrify you.

I have-- certainly found that the City alone is rather more [ Pause. What's the right word... ] free in that regard.

You should see what Izzy likes to wear.

If that is what you think, I believe I would rather not.

You better head to that entrance now. I'm going to run the rest of the way.

[ Instead of answering, Tessa gets up and makes her her way to the entrance, smoothing down her dress as she goes. ]

[Sure enough, Jace comes running up and stops nearby. Flipping his hair out of his face, he shoves his hands in his pockets and walks the rest of the way over to where she is.]

[ And for all that she says - and believes - that Will and Jace are quite similar, Tessa is struck by how different they look. Almost as different as Jem and Will; dark and light. ]

It must certainly be said that a shadowhunter's abilities are useful for traversing distances.

I do look good with the wind blowing through my hair.

[A smirk and he nods off to the side.] So, about that tea...

[ Tessa bites down on a remark about arrogance not looking good on anybody, though. She does not know him well enough for such comments, and it would hardly be polite. ]

Tea sounds quite lovely.

So do you escort yourself or do I escort you, Tessa?

[Now he's just messing around. Jace feels like he could make himself be in a good mood right now. Maybe forget about how much it hurts to be away from Clary like this.]

That would rather depend on whether you are a gentleman or not.

[ Said primly, but she is amused. ]

Well that is up for debate. I have been told by different parties that I am both. Perhaps I just depends on my mood.

Then I shall hope that you are feeling rather more like a gentleman than not today.

Well if the lady insists.

[An amused smirk later, he really is offering his arm to her like a gentleman would.]

[ And Tessa takes the arm as if its the most normal thing in the world. In a way, it is - she was raised right, after all, and the things that happened in London, those were what was not normal. ]

The lady does.

[He may be from modern day New York but Jace clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to being a gentleman, guiding the lady on his arm to the cafe with the tea.]

I was hoping she would.

Then I shall take that to mean you were in a mood to be a gentleman to begin with.

[ This is-- surprisingly pleasant. ]

I have my moments. Maybe I will use this as practice for Clary.

Clary?

My girlfriend.

[ Tessa has read enough modern fiction to understand what that means in his time. ]

She is not here, is she? Do you miss her very much?

[And the bravado increases as Jace begins spewing a load of garbage her way.]

I don't miss her at all actually. It's better off that she's not here. She'd only get into trouble if she was.

[ And Tessa lets him talk, at first, before slowly shaking her head. He is, in a way, more easy to read than Will is. Perhaps because she herself is not so invested. ]

It is hardly necessary to lie.

[Jace favors her with a look before returning his gaze straight ahead.]

I fail to see how I have lied.
