[Jace appears on the screen with a smirk on his face.]

I believe I have found the perfect place to do this.

[He turns the device around to show he's on a cliff at the beach. He shifts it to show that the beach is...really, REALLY far down there. Anyone jumping from this cliff would be insane.]

Looks like the height I want.

[Bringing the recording back to himself, he's still grinning. The device gets set down on the rocks and the viewer gets to watch as he goes to the edge. Turning his back to it, he closes his eyes, and...falls.

The recording ends there.]

[ooc: If you're at the beach, you might see Jace flip through the air to land on his feet without damage on the beach below. Otherwise, he'll answer calls he gets when he climbs back up to get his device.]

[ And Tessa takes the arm as if its the most normal thing in the world. In a way, it is - she was raised right, after all, and the things that happened in London, those were what was not normal. ]

The lady does.

[He may be from modern day New York but Jace clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to being a gentleman, guiding the lady on his arm to the cafe with the tea.]

I was hoping she would.

Then I shall take that to mean you were in a mood to be a gentleman to begin with.

[ This is-- surprisingly pleasant. ]

I have my moments. Maybe I will use this as practice for Clary.

Clary?

My girlfriend.

[ Tessa has read enough modern fiction to understand what that means in his time. ]

She is not here, is she? Do you miss her very much?

[And the bravado increases as Jace begins spewing a load of garbage her way.]

I don't miss her at all actually. It's better off that she's not here. She'd only get into trouble if she was.

[ And Tessa lets him talk, at first, before slowly shaking her head. He is, in a way, more easy to read than Will is. Perhaps because she herself is not so invested. ]

It is hardly necessary to lie.

[Jace favors her with a look before returning his gaze straight ahead.]

I fail to see how I have lied.

And I believe you are still lying. [ She gives a little shrug. ] You needn't worry that I will judge you unfavourably if you admit to missing her. It is hardly a weakness.

[He frowns at that.] Why does it matter? Clary isn't even here.

It is not so much about Clary as it is about you.

That makes no sense. [Well, yes it does. He's just choosing to be blind.]

[ Tessa lets that one go. ]

If you say so. Is it still very far to the tea house?

[Probably for the best. He guides her over to a cafe and even opens the door for her.]

Actually, we're here.

I do not think that I have been here before. [ She hasn't. Tessa spends her days scooped up in the library. ]

Believe it or not there is a world outside of the books you read. [He lifts a brow at her before continuing with this gentleman thing and pulling her chair out for her.]

I am aware of that. [ Very gentlemanly. ] It is simply that I often find the one in books preferably.

It's very difficult for a book to hurt you unless it is thrown at you, I suppose.

I do not often have books thrown at me.

The bruising is terrible. Particularly when it is thrown at one's head. [It's like he has experience or something.]

It does not sound very pleasant at all. I should rather like to avoid it.

Most people with any reasonably amount of intelligence do.

I do hope I fall into that category.
