Mark 15 - Text

Santa Claus,

I don't see any point in writing to someone that I don't believe in really. However, the City has decided that it's a requirement for the day. Something overly vexing at best so forgive me while I make sure to let you know why I'm not interested in believing in you.

I was told early on that you were some foolish thing the Mundanes believe in as children. That in reality this spirit of Christmas was rather pointless at best since gifts were best when not expected. One would value them more at that time. Though winters could be pleasant, my father made sure I learned that lesson well. It was a good lesson really if one thinks about it.

Still, if it is insisted upon that I write to request something then bring something for the girls. They would probably enjoy that.

Not Believing in Childish Fantasies,
Jace Lightwood

Sounds like an incredibly dry read.

I thought it rather fascinating.

Perhaps so, but the knowledge is invaluable.

Yes.

[ And after a moment: ] But is it not better to know, even if the truth hurts, than to remain ignorant?

Depends on what the truth is.

I think I should always prefer to know the truth.
